Starting from preparatory until I graduated from elementary, I remember my
relatives from my mother’s side asking me at every family reunion what I desire to be
when I grow up and my answer to their question would always be different from my
previous answer.
Back then, I had so many ambitions – a result of having a creative mind and
limitless imagination. When I was a child, I wanted to become a scientist, not to
experiment but to simply hold a beaker and look cool; I wanted to be a doctor to wear a
lab gown and perform CPR to a person who lost consciousness in the middle of the
street; I wanted to become an astronaut, not to explore the vast space but to experience
levitation without any instrument. When I was a child, my dreams are my ambitions.
Looking back, I knew I can be anything I vision to be because I have people who
believe, appreciate, support and motivates me to be who I desire to become. These
people are my greatest inspiration to continue what I started because they are the
people who taught me to be strong and treat failure as a success because a failure isn’t
considered a failure if you learn from it.
Amazingly, it is at this stage where I began to spot the crucial role of emotions
and taking risks in obtaining my greatest achievements.
In this life, I thought I haven’t achieved anything yet but I was wrong because I
realized that the achievement that matters most in this life that is more valuable than
medals and certificates is being able to help people while doing what you love.
With love and energy,
Jari V
